In the past, intravenous (IV) sedation – was administered by a train professional via injections to make patients feel relaxed. However, today's sedation dentistry has evolved to be even more conducive to a relaxing experience. Patients have alternatives to the traditional modalities of inhalation such as nitrous oxide also called "laughing gas" or light oral conscious sedation "oral pill sedation".

Sedation Methods At Hallandale Beach Dental
Light Oral Conscious Sedation
A painless prescribed sedative pill that is orally administered. This pill takes effects in an hour. Once you start feeling the effects of the pill, you will feel as if you’re just taking a light nap while our dentist - Dr. Arwas performs your dental treatment. You will be conscious and will be able to answer basic questions and respond to your dentist's instructions, which may include turning your head or lifting your chin. The effect of this sedation pill wears off after a few hours, allowing your dentist to complete dental treatment in a pain-free way. Ask Dr. Arwas about this sedation method.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous Oxide or how others call it "Laughing Gas" is safe sedation method for patients of all ages. Once the gas is mixed with oxygen, the patient will feel relaxed while receiving treatment. This sedation method takes a few minutes to take full effect. Once your dental treatment is completed, the nitrous effect is reversed by placing the patient on 100% oxygen supply for five minutes. You will be able to drive yourself home after treatment.
