In the past, intravenous (IV) sedation – was administered by a train professional via injections to make patients feel relaxed. However, today's sedation dentistry has evolved to be even more conducive to a relaxing experience. Patients have alternatives to the traditional modalities of inhalation such as nitrous oxide also called "laughing gas" or light oral conscious sedation "oral pill sedation".
